A complete, free, no-pay-to-rank directory of orthodontic practices in the United States.

Where the data comes from

Every listing starts from the National Plan and Provider Enumeration System (NPPES), the federal registry run by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Every healthcare provider in the U.S. is required to hold a National Provider Identifier (NPI) and to keep the record current. We include every active record carrying the taxonomy code 1223X0400X, Dentist, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

Individual orthodontists and practice organizations that share a practice address are grouped into one listing. Where a practice has registered as an organization, we show the organization name. Where only an individual orthodontist is registered at an address, the listing carries the doctor's name.

Public records are imperfect. Some practices move without updating NPPES, some doctors retire, and some addresses are billing offices rather than clinics. Claimed listings have been confirmed by the practice. Unclaimed listings have not, so call ahead.

How listings are ordered

Claimed practices first, then by number of orthodontists on staff, then alphabetically. There is no paid placement, sponsored spot, or featured tier, and there won't be.

Corrections and removals

Email hello@findalocalorthodontist.com with the practice name and what needs to change. Corrections are usually live within two business days. Practices may also claim their listing and edit it directly.
